How to retrieve clipboard history
Each new copy replaces the current clipboard contents. To retrieve an earlier item, it must have been saved in a clipboard history.
On Windows 10 and 11, press Win + V to view recent items if built-in clipboard history is enabled. For a larger history with search, use Clipdiary. It saves copied text, images, HTML, and file lists while it is running.
After installing and running Clipdiary:
- Press Ctrl + D to open the history window.
- Select the clip you need and press Enter to paste it into the application you are using.
- Or right-click the clip and choose Copy to Clipboard to reuse it later.
Clipdiary cannot recover items that were overwritten before it started saving them.
